Carol Singing in Norwood Grange

Just before we finished up for the holidays we decided to bring some festive cheer to the residents of Norwood Grange Nursing Home.  We certainly left them with bigger smiles after our singing!

Spreading the Christmas Spirit

This year we decided that it would be important to remember those who are less fortunate than us. We wanted to help other children in Cork and see if we could do something to make their Christmas a little more special.
Cork Penny Dinners are doing a Christmas Gift Box appeal this year. We thought this was perfect. We filled a shoe box with some practical (and some less practical!) presents for some of the less fortunate children of Cork.
Our thoughtfulness was very much appreciated by the volunteers who work tirelessly, especially at this time of year and we hope our Gift Boxes make some children's smiles a little brighter this Christmas!

Hallowe'en Horrors

A fantastic effort was made by the children this year as they undertook the task of designing and making their own Hallowe'en costumes! The results were equal combinations of spookiness and humour!Maith sibh, a bpáistí!

The Marshmallow Challenge

The children took part in the marshmallow challenge on Friday. They were in groups of 3 or 4. They were given 1 marshmallow, 20 sticks of spaghetti, 1 yard of string and 1 yard of tape.  They were set a challenge of building the tallest free-standing tower with the marshmallow resting on top.  There was great team work going on and some very clever structures built.

Enrolment Ceremony

On Monday night the class had their Enrolment Ceremony. It was a lovely evening with beautiful singing and excellent reading from the children.

Hurling & Camogie Teams Visit

On Friday 9th September the victorious Ballinora camogie and hurling teams paid a visit to the pupils.  It was an afternoon filled with excitement and pride in the local club.  Our camogie team also featured some staff members which made the visit all the more special.

We also wished Ms O'Regan the very best as she is due to tog out for the Cork Camogie team on Sunday.  She spoke about how the team would prepare for Sunday's match and no doubt inspired some of our budding camogie players!
